Wix to Shopify
Migration

Outgrowing Wix? Move to the platform built for brands that plan to scale to 8 figures and beyond.

Why brands leave Wix

The four reasons we hear every week.

01

Scale ceiling

Wix is fantastic for launching a store — but it hits a wall fast. Product catalog depth, advanced inventory, B2B, international multi-currency, and complex discount logic all become workarounds instead of features. Shopify is built for where you're going.

02

No real headless or API story

Wix's Velo and APIs exist, but serious headless commerce isn't a first-class concern there. Shopify's Storefront API is the industry standard — every modern frontend framework, app, and integration is built for it.

03

Design lock-in to Wix Editor

Your site lives inside the Wix Editor. Porting it anywhere else — or hiring a frontend developer to customize it deeply — is painful. Shopify lets you own a custom codebase you can take anywhere.

04

Limited app and integration marketplace

Wix App Market is a fraction of Shopify's. Every tool your marketing team wants — advanced email flows, loyalty, reviews, subscriptions — is built Shopify-first, with Wix as an afterthought (or not at all).

What transfers

Nothing gets left behind.

A real migration is more than products and orders. We preserve the long tail — redirects, meta tags, customer data, historical orders — so your team wakes up on launch day to a faster store, not a broken one.

Every Wix object is mapped to its Shopify equivalent during the audit phase. You sign off on the mapping before we touch production.

  • Products, variants, SKUs and inventory levels
  • Product images, alt tags, descriptions and metafields
  • Collections, categories and navigation structure
  • Customers, order history and saved addresses
  • Historical orders with line items and fulfilment status
  • Discounts, gift cards and loyalty balances
  • SEO: URL redirects (301s), meta tags and structured data
  • Blog posts, pages and static content

The process

How a Wix to Shopify migration actually runs.

01

Data audit

We inventory every entity in your current store — products, customers, orders, URLs — and map them 1:1 to Shopify objects. You get a complete migration blueprint before any work starts.

02

Staged import

We import everything into a Shopify development store. No production impact. You validate the data, we fix gaps, we sign off together.

03

Headless build

While the data migration runs, we build your new Next.js storefront connected via the Shopify Storefront API. Design, components, performance — all production-grade.

04

SEO cutover

301 redirects from every old URL to the new one. XML sitemap, schema markup, canonicals. Search rankings stay intact.

05

Zero-downtime launch

DNS change at a low-traffic window. Your old store stays online until the new one is live and verified. If anything goes wrong, rollback is a DNS flip.

06

30-day support

We stay on-call for the first month. Bugs, tweaks, analytics questions — covered.

FAQ

Wix migration questions, answered.

Can we keep our Wix design when we move to Shopify?
We rebuild your site from scratch using your existing design as the brief — but with full custom code in Next.js. The result looks identical (or better, usually) but loads 2–3× faster and can be extended without platform limits.
What happens to our Wix Bookings or Wix Restaurants data?
Those are Wix-specific apps without a 1:1 Shopify equivalent. We map them to Shopify-native alternatives (Tipo, BookThatApp, or custom-built) during scoping. If the workflow is core to your business, we sometimes recommend staying on Wix for that module and running Shopify for commerce.
Will Google re-index our new URLs?
Yes — within 2–4 weeks of launch, usually faster. We set up 301 redirects from every Wix URL to its Shopify equivalent, submit a fresh sitemap to Search Console, and preserve all meta tags and schema. Rankings typically recover fully within a month.
How much does Wix to Shopify migration cost?
Data-only migrations start from ₹1–2 lakhs depending on catalog size. A full headless rebuild with Next.js is a separate scope — typically ₹5–8 lakhs for a standard D2C store. We give a fixed quote after the audit call.
